The Great Lakes beers have, for some time now, been the toast of the Rust Belt, and some of the most popular beers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Illinois. Now they are finally here in North Carolina! "Edmund Fitzgerald" is a complex, roasty, toasty porter that displays notes of bittersweet chocolate, heavily roasted coffee, and dark, raisinated fruits. A bold hop presence on the finish serves as a very nice counterpoint to all the naturally rich malt sweetness, and dark, roasted flavors. Pleasingly robust, but still easy drinking, this multi-award winning beer (just check Great Lakes' website - it's really kinda silly how many awards this beer has won), is likely not the last Great Lakes beer to join our list here at G2B!
